British Gas ASA National County Team Championships

 

Congratulations to the following swimmers who have been selected to be part of the Bedfordshire Team for the British Gas ASA National County Team Championships on Sunday 16 October, at Ponds Forge, Sheffield:

 

Hayley Alcock, Jordan Batson, Nathan Bentley, Charlotte Blacksley,

Ryan Compton, Beth Currant, Ryan Drawbridge, Amy Harris, William Hawkes, Emily Jesson, Jessica Karp, Thomas Langford, Oliver Maltby, Kate Meechan,

Christopher Murphy, Charlotte Ovenden, Nicola Pasquire, Amber Swales,

Rachel Templeman, Stephen Thom, Peter Webster, Finnley Whitbread,

Jay Wilson and Thomas Winder.

For those travelling with the Team, the Beds ASA Coach will leave Interchange Retail Park, Kempston promptly at 7.00 am and is expected to return at 8.00 pm. Good luck to all our swimmers.

County Colours

County colours are usually awarded to young athletes who represent Bedfordshire ASA for the first time. Colours are normally awarded at the County Championships in respect of team selection during the previous year. Any request for the Executive to award County Colours for exceptional reasons, other than County Team selection, including the minor aquatic disciplines, should be made in writing to the Secretary.

County Team

Bedfordshire ASA competes in various inter-county swimming competitions throughout the year.  In recent years the County Team has competed at:

  • The Kingerlee Trophy Gala – a meet organised by Oxon and N Bucks ASA and held at Milton Keynes in May
  • The ASA East Region Inter-counties – a meet held in July and hosted by counties in the East Region on rotation
  • The ASA National Inter-county Team competition – held in October at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.
 

Selection for the Bedfordshire ASA County Teams is made with regard to the current ASA on line ranking list which can be found at: http://www.britishswimming.org. Any enquiries about team selection should be referred to the Competition Secretary.
